FACE YOGA

A daily beauty treatment: FACE YOGA

Face yoga is a 100% natural method created in 2012 by Japanese teacher Fumiko Takatsu. It consists of a series of expressive facial movements combined with specific breathing techniques, which together make up a true “facial workout”. In fact, there are fifty different muscles in our face that can be toned and strengthened just like any other part of the body (1). By repeatedly and correctly moving these underlying facial muscles, there is an improvement in local circulation. Cells receive more oxygen, are nourished more quickly, and are also quickly freed from toxins and waste substances. The result is a brighter and more toned skin, but above all a slowing down of skin aging (2).

The scientific literature in this field is increasing, but a 2018 study by Northwestern University was the first to demonstrate that facial exercise can improve facial appearance. A group of women between the ages of 40 and 65 practiced a series of specific exercises for twenty weeks. At the end of the experiment, there was an improvement in cheek and cheekbone volume. A group of independent dermatologists compared the photographs taken at the beginning, middle, and end of the trial and quantified a “rejuvenation” of about three years in just a few weeks (1).

The revolutionary advantage of face yoga is that just 15-20 minutes of daily exercise is enough to reshape, tone, and make facial skin more elastic with visible anti-aging effects in a 100% natural way (1). Beyond the external results, those who regularly practice face yoga report deeper effects, such as increased self-esteem and a more mindful attitude towards life. This self-care practice, self-improvement without external help, generates a very powerful inner energy.

And now, let’s move on to practice! Like any workout, it is always good to start with a brief warm-up phase to activate circulation and prepare the facial muscles for daily training: open your eyes wide, smile a lot, stick out your tongue, rotate your head right and left and finally touch your ears with your fingertips while exerting some pressure.

Now that your facial muscles are ready to be trained, follow the face yoga practices of our Face Yoga trainers!

https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=348710502411017

Face yoga can therefore be considered a step in our skincare routine. Facial exercises, combined with the application of cosmetic products, can be used to promote the absorption of the latter, as well as to enhance their effects.

Since facial yoga involves manipulating and touching the face with the hands, it is essential to follow each session with an accurate cleansing phase of the face using suitable products that can remove impurities. The ULTRA-GENTLE CREAM CLEANSER has a formula composed of only three ingredients that make it an extremely delicate product that does not alter the hydro-lipidic barrier. Moreover, thanks to its creamy texture, a small amount with little water is enough to deeply cleanse the skin without foaming.

Among the products to be combined with face yoga, the FACE SERUM HYALURONIC ACID stands out for its rapid absorption and its strong filling and moisturizing action on wrinkles. Thanks to its combined structure with high and low molecular weight, it can penetrate the barrier exerted by the lipidic film better while simultaneously binding a huge amount of water molecules, giving firmness to the deepest layers of the skin.

A cream that acts on the surface layer should always be combined with the serum that acts on the deeper layers. We recommend two:

IMMUNO 6 is based on Argan Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Resveratrol, Rhodiola Rosea, Coenzyme Q-10, Pomegranate, and Ginkgo Biloba. The active ingredients, due to their high concentration and synergistic action, fight and reduce the formation of free radicals which are the cause of skin cell aging. Additionally, they exhibit a strong antioxidant action and stimulate cellular renewal and microcirculation, providing a new radiance to dull and opaque skin.

VITALITY’s formula, based on Macadamia Oil, high and low molecular weight Hyaluronic Acid, Acetyltetrapeptide 9, and Carnosine, gives the skin a plumped and nourished appearance, as well as a remarkable increase in skin elasticity.

Now that you have all the tools, start training your face!

SKINCARE and BEAUTY ROUTINE for DEHYDRATED SKIN

The DAILY BEAUTY and SKIN CARE ROUTINE is essential for maintaining hydrated and healthy skin.

Here are some tips on how to hydrate your skin:

  • Reduce or suspend exfoliation to avoid further stressing the skin.
  • Avoid aggressive cleansers that can dry out the skin.
  • Instead, use gentle cleansers without chemical surfactants such as ULTRA-GENTLE CREAMY BIODETERGENT. Its formula, composed of only three ingredients, makes it a very gentle product that does not alter the skin’s hydro-lipidic barrier. Also, thanks to its creamy texture, a small amount with little water is enough to deeply cleanse the skin without foaming. These characteristics also make it an excellent makeup remover to use as an alternative to micellar water, which often tends to dry out the skin.
Use functional substances that are already part of the skin barrier and need to be replenished.

The most important of these is hyaluronic acid, which, thanks to its high molecular weight structure, can bind a significant amount of water molecules, giving firmness to the deeper layers of the skin. Scientific studies have shown that just 0.1% of hyaluronic acid has hydrating properties. However, to introduce hyaluronic acid externally, it must have a combination of high and low molecular weight molecules. The low molecular weight allows it to better penetrate the barrier created by the hydro-lipidic film.

HYALURONIC ACID FACE SERUM is based on pure hyaluronic acid with low and high molecular weight concentrations of 1% for immediate action. It keeps the skin naturally hydrated for a long time, thanks to the higher concentration of high molecular weight. It also gives volume and smoothes expression lines with a natural and marked lifting effect thanks to the low molecular weight component.

To enhance the effect, it is essential to combine the serum, which acts on the deeper layers, with a cream that “blocks” the serum and acts on the surface layer.

The BIOCREMA RIGENERANTE CONTORNO OCCHI has a delicate formula that allows it to be used on the eye area. It also contains hyaluronic acid and sun filter, useful characteristics to prevent dehydration.

For oily skin, this dehydration treatment is sufficient. If the skin is dry, as a night treatment, a richer cream is recommended, preferably with ceramides and oils to reconstitute the lipid part of the skin barrier, and anti-aging ingredients to counteract the appearance of wrinkles.

To act on both fronts, we recommend the IMMUNO 6 face cream based on Argan Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Resveratrol, Rhodiola Rosea, Coenzyme Q-10, Pomegranate, and Ginkgo Biloba. The active ingredients, due to their high concentration and synergistic action, fight and reduce the formation of free radicals that cause skin cell aging. They also have a marked antioxidant action and stimulate cellular renewal and microcirculation, giving dull and opaque skin a new radiance.

Alternatively, to provide nourishment and restore the skin’s lipid balance, vegetable oils are excellent, particularly ARGAN oil, which, among its characteristics, also stimulates collagen production.

DRY SKIN AND DEHYDRATED SKIN: WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE

The terms “dry skin” and “dehydrated skin” are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same thing.

The substantial difference is that dry skin is a skin type and therefore persists over time, while dehydrated skin is a temporary skin condition that can occur in all skin types. Dehydrated skin can have a similar appearance and sensation to dry skin, but it is not an exclusive condition of this skin type. This means that anyone can have dehydrated skin, even oily skin can be dehydrated at the same time due to various factors.

In dehydrated skin, the hydro-lipid content of the stratum corneum shows a lack of water component. This component is important for the barrier function, protection against irritants, and mechanical properties of the skin. What are the causes that temporarily lead to dehydrated skin?

These factors include excessive

  • exfoliation
  • use of aggressive or unsuitable products for one’s skin type
  • exposure to sunlight without application of protection
  • weather conditions (cold)
  • stress
  • diet.

These factors alter the hydro-lipid film, leading to excessive trans-epidermal water loss, and therefore dehydration. When it affects the face, the skin appears dull and lifeless.

SENSITIVE SKIN SKINCARE

SKINCARE e BEAUTY ROUTINE for SENSITIVE SKIN

CLEANSING: sensitive skin needs, needless to say, a cleanser that is as gentle as possible. Too aggressive detergents could alter the hydrolipidic barrier and therefore generate greater hypersensitivity to external agents. That’s why we recommend the ULTRA GENTLE CREAM BIODETRGENT. Its formula composed of only three ingredients makes it a very delicate product that does not alter the hydrolipidic barrier. Moreover, thanks to its creamy texture, a small amount with a little water is enough to deeply cleanse the skin without foaming.

TONIC: better if it contains soothing substances, to relieve redness, itching and rashes typical of sensitive skin, such as the ULTRA GENTLE FACE TONIC based on calendula and witch hazel. These two plants are known for their anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
In particular, Calendula stimulates skin regeneration in case of eczema and irritation, as well as creating a real barrier that protects the epidermis from external aggressions.
Witch hazel, in addition to being astringent and vasoconstrictive, has a great decongestant and protective action on the microcirculation, and the extracts of this plant are used in cosmetics for reddened, irritable and couperose skin. (2)

CREAMS: After daily cleansing of the body, it is recommended to apply a generous layer of emollient, moisturizing and nourishing cream on sensitive skin: the regular application of these products on sensitive skin is extremely important both to avoid delipidation of the skin and to raise the skin tolerance threshold towards irritating external agents. (3)
As a day cream, the CAMOMILE AND CALENDULA CREAM thanks to the bisabolol and the vegetable extracts of chamomile and calendula has a soothing and calming action. Furthermore, it works by improving the function of the skin barrier leading to a normalization of the microbiota present on the skin. Its rich and nourishing texture is also an excellent ally to protect the skin especially from the winter cold.
To limit the appearance of the signs of aging, which come early for those with sensitive skin, don’t forget to nourish and moisturize your skin even during the night. VITALITY, thanks to macadamia oil, hyaluronic acid, peptides and ceramides, offers all the constituents of the hydrolipidic layer: hyaluronic acid draws water, ceramides and macadamia oil reconstitute the lipidic part. The peptides, on the other hand, nourish the underlying layer, thus giving a toning effect.

EYE CONTOUR: already a delicate area in normal skin, it should be treated even more carefully in sensitive skin. This is because the skin is much thinner in this area. For this reason it is recommended to first apply a serum, to deeply hydrate, such as the REGENERATING EYE CONTOUR SERUM. Here too we find hyaluronic acid and ceramides, accompanied by coenzyme Q10, a well-known antioxidant. To enhance the effect of the serum and act on the most superficial layer, also apply the REGENERATING EYE CONTOUR BIOCREAM: fragrance-free and with a neutral pH, this cream is designed for the most sensitive areas of the face and for the most delicate skins, both young and mature. With hyaluronic acid and UV filter.

VEGETABLE OILS? YES PLEASE!
Vegetable, 100% natural, allergen-free and cold-pressed: vegetable oils are an excellent alternative for those with extremely sensitive skin to some components of creams.
In bottles for the body, and in practical roll-on sticks to facilitate application on the face, we provide you with 3 choices: ARGAN, ROSA MOSQUETA and JOJOBA.

Is this scent Chypre or Powdery?

If you don’t know the difference between a Chypre perfume and a Cypriot one, know that you’re in good company. Nevertheless, there is a difference and it lies in the reference raw materials that define the two facets. Today we will talk about the Chypre facet, while we will dedicate the next article to the Powdery facet.

The Chypre accord is a historic accord named after the island of Cyprus, which inspired Francois Coty in 1917 to create his perfume named “Chypre”. It was built on a base accord of Bergamot, Rose, Jasmine, Patchouli, Labdanum, and Oakmoss.

It had such great success that from that moment on, perfumes based on the same base accord were called Chypre. Today’s modern Chypre has replaced natural oakmoss, which is banned in perfumery, with Evernyl, a synthetic molecule that reproduces it fairly faithfully. Jasmine has been replaced by its isolated form, Hedione, and rose is usually also reproduced from natural molecules. Labdanum has been replaced by white musks, synthetic ones that smell clean.

What goes through my mind and heart when I smell a Chypre fragrance? Velvet, intense, deep Bordeaux, determined, solid, mysterious, provocative.

LA NOTTE DI ANGELICA

Our Chypre perfume is LA NOTTE DI ANGELICA. This fragrance is built on the historic accord and contains natural Bergamot, Patchouli, and Labdanum, while Rose and Jasmine are two reconstructed bases. In addition to the base accord, this wonderfully feminine and intense perfume contains honey, beeswax, and natural essential oils such as Elemi, Benzoin, Guaiac wood, Mandarin, Lime, Ebony and Cedarwood.

LA NOTTE DI ANGELICA is a perfume suitable from dusk onwards, it wants the darkness and mystery that only the night can give.

PIMPLES, BLACK HEADS AND IMPURE SKIN: HERE IS the SKINCARE

COSMETIC REMEDIES for ACNE

Acne is a skin condition that must be treated with specific and very delicate products: here are some tips for proper skin care
1st STEP: EXFOLIATION
When you suffer from acne, you often tend to exaggerate with exfoliation. Don’t make this mistake! At this stage, delicacy is essential. Frequency is also important: give yourself an exfoliation no more than once a week.
Choose the right product and don’t risk drying the skin too much, because you could get the opposite effect: the skin could produce excess sebum to protect itself.
Therefore prefer creams with very fine microgranules, such as the FACE SCRUB WITH BEESWAX AND JOJOBA MICROGRANULES, which gently removes dead cells by freeing the follicle and at the same time counteracts dryness by nourishing the skin.
2nd STEP: CLEANSING
During the day, the skin comes into contact with impurities from the external environment, such as dust, smog, but also make-up. To prevent these residues from clogging the pores and mixing with sebum and dead cells, inflaming the skin and forming pimples, it is important to clean your face well in the evening before going to sleep. The ideal, in case of acne, is to use detergents that are both delicate and antibacterial, such as TEA TREE OIL SOAP, with tea tree essential oil, which acts as a natural antibacterial.
In the morning, on the other hand, to free the pores from the thin layer of sebum that normally forms during the night, all you need is an extremely delicate cleanser such as ULTRA-DELICATE BIOTEDERGENT CREAM. Its formula composed of only 3 ingredients makes it a very delicate product and, thanks to its creamy texture, a small amount with a little water is enough to cleanse the skin in depth without the use of foaming agents.
….and to remove make-up?
Instead of common make-up removers that can irritate or dry inflamed areas, in case of acne it is more appropriate to use natural vegetable oils, as long as they are “lean” and rebalancing sebum such as JOJOBA OIL. Simply apply it directly to the face or onto a make-up remover pad, massage to remove make-up and rinse off.
3rd STEP MOISTURIZE AND DISINFECT
One of the most common mistakes people make is to believe that acne-prone skin doesn’t need hydration. This is not the case, in fact, even in the case of acne, the skin must be hydrated during the day, the important thing is not to use creams that are too greasy and that contain a sunscreen: in fact, in contact with UV rays, the areas affected by acne quickly tend to get stained . The BIOCREMA is right for us: extreme delicacy, so much so that it can also be used on the eye contour, associated with spv15.
As a night treatment, we recommend curative products that are possibly natural antibacterials, since antibiotic pharmaceutical creams risk developing antibiotic resistance. This is why a recommended product to hydrate and simultaneously disinfect the skin is LENIDERM PLUS, a cream based on Tea Tree Oil, skin rebalancing and antibacterial, and Bisabolol, a chamomile extract that has an emollient and calming action.
WHAT IF I ALREADY HAVE SCARS OR ACNE STAINS?
Acne pimples are gone but have they given way to blemishes and scars?
Don’t worry: Vitamin C comes to your rescue! In fact, in addition to having an anti-aging effect on the skin, Vitamin C is also known for its lightening properties. For an intensive treatment we recommend using the REVITALIZING LIGHTENING VITAMIN SERUM associated with JEUNESSE NIGHT&DAY- REVITALIZING VITAMIN CREAM. Apply both products all over your face morning and night for an even result.
Do you prefer oils to creams? There is ROSA MOSQUETA OIL, which has always been a valid lightening remedy effective on both spots and scars.

ACNE and PIMPLES. What’s the difference?

When the famous and unsightly inflammations appear on the face and on some parts of the body, we tend to speak indifferently of “acne” or “pimples”. It’s not totally wrong, but it’s good to know that there is a slight difference between these two terms.
The pimple arises from a bacterial infection that affects the skin pore.
In the case of acne, on the other hand, the hair follicles are involved, which become infected and transformed following hormonal stimulation.</span

BUT HOW DOES AN ACNE PIMPLE “BORN”?

It is no coincidence that the disorder is typically distributed in areas rich in sebaceous glands such as the face, chest and shoulders.
Under the skin, pores are connected to sebaceous glands which produce an oily substance known as sebum. The glands and pores are connected by a channel known as a follicle which has a fine hair that grows on the surface of the skin.
During a phase of hormonal imbalance, the receptors of the sebaceous glands absorb more hormones, producing a greater quantity of sebum. When sebum and dead skin cells clump together, they form a plug in the follicle. Inside the closed pore, bacteria in the follicle multiply and cause inflammation, leading to the formation of small inflamed cysts or nodules.
Among the various bacteria, the most representative is this one: Cutibacterium acnes., but other types are also involved, such as staph strains.

In these cases it is necessary to consult specialists, such as gynecologists and dermatologists, to eventually consider a specific and appropriate pharmacological treatment.

Stress, anxiety and sleep quality also greatly affect disease susceptibility and severity. These conditions, in fact, increase the stimulation of the production of cortisol, also called the stress hormone. This affects not only acne, but also less serious ball conditions, such as the appearance of pimples and blackheads.

ACNE, PIMPLES AND FOOD
Another factor that affects this annoying blemish is the wrong food. In fact, scientific studies have proven that a high glycemic index diet stimulates the secretion of androgens (hormones) and causes an increase in the production of sebum.

So, step one: eat a balanced diet. Fruits, vegetables and foods rich in antioxidants fight free radicals and provide essential vitamins for the skin, such as vitamins A, B2, C and E. In addition, salts minerals are important, especially zinc, a micronutrient essential for the development and functioning of human skin, which contributes to the maintenance of normal skin. Unfortunately it is not always easy to take meals in which all the vitamins and minerals that satisfy our daily needs are present at the same time.
TUTTO IN UNO is a food supplement that contains a wide range of vitamins and minerals as well as a protein source based on dry extracts of soy and spirulina. The peculiarity of its active ingredients is that they are at low doses so as to be easily assimilated and not to cause accumulation problems on the liver, thus also promoting better purification of the body and skin.

NEW CREATIONS WITH OUD

Symbio studio,  an American film production company has realized   ITALY MADE WITH LOVE a documentary on some Italian artisan realities . For niche perfumery he chose SPEZEIRIE PALAZZO VECCHIO and for this we are very proud and grateful. Today this video is an opportunity to tell you about the two new fragrances we have been working on for several months now in which we experimented with a new raw material for us: oud.

Agarwood, or oud is the dark aromatic resin that forms in Aquilaria and Gyrinops trees that are native to Southeast Asia, when they are infected by a particular type of mold. It is a woody, animal, sweet, balsamic raw material. It is also very expensive due to the reduction of natural resources to produce oud. For this reason, today perfumeries, with a view to sustainability, create bases that reproduce oud starting from natural extracts and synthetic molecules and using natural oud in very small parts.

The perfumes we are creating therefore use an Oud base which has precisely these characteristics and that is, it is woody, sweet and balsamic and not very animal. we made this choice because it is closer to our formulation style.

HAIKU, based on Peony and Oud is a perfume that is positioned between dream and reality. Inspired by an imaginary world full of colors surrounded by nature. Reality and imagination mix in a dreamlike vision. It represents the enchanting lightness of being that cannot do without passion and spirituality.
OLFACTORY PYRAMID
Peach, pear, bergamot accord
Warm heart accord (tuberose and rose), peony
Oud, Amber and Vanilla

KERALA, based on black pepper and Oud is a masculine fragrance in which I mixed the sweet and woody baslamic resin of oud with the strong freshness of mint and cardamom, immersed in a pungent concrete heart of geranium and black pepper. Head and heart then rely on a sweet base of amber and coumarin. KERALA is the name of the region where black pepper comes from.

RAW MATERIAL
Spearmint, cardamom, bergamot
Bourbon geranium, jasmine, black pepper, cloves
Oud, Ambergris (Iso and Super), Tobacco, Coumarin

These two fragrances are now in maceration in alcohol, the first long maceration of 4 weeks. after bottling and labelling, they will finally be on our physical and virtual shelves.
